About The Nightingale Project

The Nightingale project was created inside the CurAIHeart project at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany in 2024 based on the funding from the German Ministry of Health and Education (grant number ). From 2025 the project is formally owned by the Innovation in Medicine Gbr company registered at the city of Mainz. Work is conducted in a hybrid way between online and office currently in Nikolaus-Otto-Strasse 6, 55129 Mainz.

The vision of the project is to use artificial intelligence (AI) to contribute to improved health outcomes for both individuals and the society as a whole. We operate under the device “Detect” - “Teach” - “Motivate” to illustrate the multi-faceted nature of this task, spanning from early risk detection to improved teaching to health coaching. Modern techniques such as gamification, language models et.c. are used to create the services which are meant to complement the medical system and help alleviate an often systemic shortage of resources.

Finally, we are proud to rely heavily on the efforts of ambitious students and provide an opportunity for young learners. Whether through internships or theses, many have gotten a taste of their worklife and a push forward in their career through their efforts. You are invited to browse and please test the demo services for an idea of what we created.
